How To Mind AI

Mark Twain said, “I didn’t have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.”

The quote I read in my 20s influenced my minimal writing style.

I take long time to craft a short email for my business stakeholders and executives.

I cut every word as fat.

Shorter sentences have more impact.

It takes long to write.

The exercise does stretch my mind.

The question is with the rise of AI, can I still think?

I can prompt chatGPT to write a shorter email.

The purpose is solved.

But I limit my brain’s ability to enhance the perception.

Writing is a thinking tool for me.

I am not only spending time on what to write.

I am also investing time on what not to write.

There is more emphasis on how to get the best from AI.

AI tools have become toll gateway.

You pay for the token and pass through.

The mind’s muscle was busy with creativity.

Now mind is working on how to make AI’s muscle busy.

I don’t hate AI.

But I am not blinded by the love either.

I draw a middle line.

It’s a collaborate work.

I like AI for the research.

I like to bounce the idea.

I like to criticize AI.

I also like AI to criticize my work.

We both take pinch of salt with our criticism.

It leaves room for the imperfection.

Being imperfect leaves room for growth.

I am not perfect.

Neither is AI.

How I would like to mind AI?

With a sense of balance.

Generating from AI is inevitable.

But it’s crucial to digest the output with pause and reflection.

I would love to go to Starbucks with a cup of Americano and write.

One sentence at a time.

Like old days.

I feel good when I see others writing or reading a book.

It feels human.

It feels real.

I love it.
