Tatvamasi (તત્વમસિ) – That Thou Art (તત્વમસિ) – Dhruv Bhatt

Recommendation: 5/5

(See my list of other books)

I resisted watching the REVA film, which is adapted from this book. I didn’t regret it.

I had goosebumps for one minute after reading the book’s last word – ..રે..વા…! (Reva)

The protagonist has no name because the story’s real protagonist is the Narmada River. He undergoes a similar transformation to Mohan Bhargav’s in the movie Swadesh.

It’s a spiritual journey that travels within the mind.

Dhruv Bhatt has beautifully painted tribal locations, nature and characters.

Notes

  1. Why do I think those without formal education or teachers contributed the most to keeping Indian literature alive?
  2. What mystery binds all the Indians, regardless of their languages, traditions, religions, and cultures?
